On This Day In 1968 The Zombies Released 'Odessey and Oracle'

Released on this day in 1968, Odessey and Oracle is the second studio album by The Zombies. The album was recorded over a period of three months between June and August 1967. The sessions took place at Abbey Road Studios and Olympic Studios in London. Initially, the response was indifference. However, once the single "Time of the Season" became a surprise hit in the United States in early 1969, the album would gradually achieved fame and has since become one of the most acclaimed albums of the 1960s, sitting alongside Pet Sounds and Sgt Pepper as one of the most influential albums of all times.

In honor of the anniversary, check out The Zombies performing the classic "Time of the Season" at the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (below).
